The production, processing and use of porous materials as both particulate and formed entities covers an enormous range of industries and applications. With this wide usage comes many potential problems and we will present a range of tools that can be applied to assist scientists and engineers in studying and understanding both process and product issues. Powder rheology, density, porosity and surface area are some of the techniques we will discuss from a practical standpoint aimed at process efficiency and final product quality.
